Around the Way 4
The weatherman called for a rain filled weekend in the BTV, but Saturday morning rolled around looking good and it didn’t change all weekend. Another Yard Sale Saturday was very successful touring various rummage sales and free piles* along the roads. Total score was two complete bikes, two office-warming gifts and a round-file for 31 dollars. Not bad. Got to stripping down one of the bikes for it’s transformation and re-paint. Should be a good one.
After chilling in Basement Jamz for a minute listenting to old school A Dog tapes, his text came through saying to catch him for a couple of sets downtown. No problem. Downtown BTV seemed especially active this evening…which always means activities a plenty to observe on the streets.
Sunday got back on the bike after a few days break to catch some pedal time around the way. Toured three of the BTV Burroughs and came up with some new photo spots to shoot another day, good stories at the Lawrence crib, bike store visits (of course) and other random mischief, happenings and laughter.
Next weekend is the Shutter Speed Alley Cat Race and Photo Hunt in Burlington. If any of ya’ll are kickin’ it around the East Coast, stop through. Hit up bikepolo@mac.com for more info. Sounds like a ton of headz are turning out for this.

free piles* - I’ve seen these before growing up out West, but not nearly the same frequency as here in good ‘ol Vermont. Residents, students and general do-gooders always putting out some very usable items (and sometimes of great value) in these piles with the cardboard sign telling you to take whatever. So when in doubt on some items no longer of use to you, get your free pile on !
