JLA COLLABORATIVE ART PROJECT
The Jeff Anderson Collaborative Art Project went off! Just about every artist and photographer taking part in the event, Jeff’s entire family and all of Mammoth turned out to honor our fallen hero on Saturday, November 14th, 2009. The house was absolutely packed to pay their respects and check out what each pairing had to offer in remembering JLA.
I, personally, had high expectations for the artwork (considering who contributed), but what I didn’t expect was how far they exceeded my expectations once I saw the artwork in person! It was really something to see…the time, the creativity and the deeper meaning that the artists put into the photography through five different mediums including metal, glass, paint, canvas and paper.
Jeff’s mom and brother addressed the crowd to tell everybody thanks for coming out and showing support, and we had to thank them for their tireless efforts in putting together this show along with Torrey and Dawn from The Machine. Twenty-three prints of each piece were available for purchase, with print number one being sold through silent auction. JDK also contributed one hundred screen-printed posters, while Analog produced Jeff Anderson t-shirts for sale. All proceeds go directly to the JLA Memorial Fund.
The JLA Art Show will hit the road on December 10th in San Francisco, California at Club Six; with four other shows to follow including NYC and Tokyo. BLOTTO.
