North shore has been super glassy and fun little waves for weeks it seems!
Been swimming out at BackDoor with no wetsuit and feeling like a bath tub… enjoy.

Two good days spent in the water shooting Pipe & Backdoor today & some Roxy Girl shots from yesterday….the glassiest water i’ve seen in awhile, so crazy, it looks like jello…..alohas

Jim Russi grew up on the beach in southern California and began surfing at the age of 6 years old.  He graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with a B.A. in Fashion & Advertising.  In 1978 he moved to the north shore of Oahu after what was planned as only a week-long surf trip to the island.

The photo shoot at Squaw Valley is now complete…super good times with riders Grilo, Sorman, Kim, Mason, Sani, Maurer, Kazu, Charles and my filming cronies Brad, Timmy and Gabe. We’re packed up and heading one mountain range over to Northstar for the final film/photo shoot of the season.
